Summer Time Reads

A Summer of Sun, Sand, and Stories

I recently returned from a wonderful family beach vacation on Kiawah Island, and I have to say, it was absolutely amazing. There’s nothing quite like the combination of sun, sand, and some much-needed relaxation.

One of the best parts of the trip was having the time to dive into some great books.

Here’s a look at what I’ve been reading this summer:

  • Olivetti by Allie Millington (Middle Grade) **MY FAVORITE BOOK OF THE YEAR!
  • And Then Boom! by Lisa Flips (Middle Grade)
  • Bridge to Bat City by Ernest Cline (Middle Grade)
  • Medusa by Katherine Marsh (Middle Grade)
  • Long Island (Brooklyn sequel) by Colm Toibin
  • Happy Place by Emily Henry
  • A Table for Two by Amor Towels

Each of these books provided a fantastic escape, and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for something new to read.

As the summer continues, I’m excited to delve into my To Be Read List, which includes:

  • Max and the House of Spies by Adam Gidwitz (Middle Grade)
  • Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
  • Shark Teeth by Sharon Winston (Middle Grade)
  • The Frindle Files by Andrew Clements (Elementary/Middle Grade)
  • Gracie Under the Waves by Linda Sue Park (Middle Grade)
  • Louder than Hunger by John Schu (Middle Grade)

I’m looking forward to getting lost in these stories over the next few weeks.

I’d love to hear about what you’ve been up to this summer and any great books you might recommend.

Find me on instagram and share your favorite books from this summer!

Happy reading!
